Career description - freely formulated by the organiser:

Feichin McCormack’s path began with an engineer’s curiosity and a drive to make a tangible difference. From the outset, he was drawn to the promise of renewable energy—a field where mechanics and sustainability meet. That early spark led him into operations and maintenance within the renewables sector, where every decision could help keep turbines spinning and communities powered.

At Energia, Feichin honed his craft in wind farm operations. As an O&M engineer, he became the go-to person for keeping assets optimized, reliable, and efficient. Whether coordinating site teams or analyzing performance data, he learned turbine behavior inside out—knowing when a subtle vibration or oil change could signal deeper issues.

Over time, Feichin’s expertise grew beyond routine operations. He began driving improvements—not just fixing faults, but preventing them. His insights in engineering and diagnostics brought smarter maintenance strategies, extending turbine lifespans and improving uptime. Colleagues appreciated his hands-on approach and his knack for translating data into action.

Today, Feichin serves as Operations & Maintenance Engineering Manager at Energia. He leads a team responsible for wind generation assets across Ireland, shaping maintenance frameworks, rolling out best practices, and championing continuous improvement. Beyond day-to-day management, he contributes to industry-wide advances—collaborating with peers in owner-to-owner webinars and sharing lessons from real-world turbine operations. Humble yet driven, Feichin’s story reflects a career built on technical mastery, practical innovation, and a quiet commitment to advancing renewable energy.
