Miguel Perez, Asset Management Director at Renewable Power Capital in Spain

Career description - freely formulated by the organiser:

Miguel began his professional journey in finance and consulting, starting out as an auditor at Deloitte. He learned to dissect numbers, assess risks, and deliver clarity for clients—all skills that would later inform his structured approach in energy.

Seeking broader business perspectives, he moved into roles in the financial sector—first at Caixa Galicia (now Abanca), then leading consulting services with GMS Management Solutions. In the U.S. as Country Manager, he sharpened his strategic mindset and gained international insight into operations and team leadership.

His shift into renewables came from a combination of opportunity and expertise. With Enfinity Global, he stepped into asset management, first in Spain and quickly at a global level. He built frameworks to monitor performance and ensure that wind and solar assets ran efficiently.

In 2013, he co-founded Vector Renewables, helping it grow from a small player to managing 3.6 GW of renewable assets across 12 countries. As a board member and executive in asset management, he scaled teams and operations, overseeing growth and enhancing the company’s technical and commercial capabilities. It was here that he learned how to align financial discipline with operational practicality.

Today, as Head of Asset Management at Renewable Power Capital, Miguel leads both technical performance and financial oversight for operational sites, and supports new construction projects. He balances operational detail with broader business objectives. In quieter moments, he reflects on building teams, shaping portfolios, and the practical challenges of keeping clean energy assets running.
